Three recipients of the Community Excellence Award were honoured at Shelburne Council Monday, October 20th (left to right) Andrew Lewis, John van Teunenbroek and Brenda Speers. Mayor Ed Crewson (far right) congratulated the award winners for their generosity – contributing to what makes “Shelburne the best small town in Ontario.” All three were recommended by Ardith Dunlop of the Shepherd’s Cupboard Food Bank. Brenda Speers has volunteered for the Food Bank for over ten years, as well as being a member of the Board for the organization; John van Teunenbroek of No Frills has supported, given donations, and hosted many fund raisers to give back to the citizens of Shelburne; Andrew Lewis of Giant Tiger was also recognized for his ongoing support and orders of weekly flyer specials.
