Is Shelburne’s Grace Tipling Hall Haunted?

October 30, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Shelburne residents have heard the rumors about our beautiful Grace Tipling Hall being haunted, but no one knows for certain. Could it be the former CAO who is the suited man reputed to walk the halls, the builder of the hall itself, William Jelly, Shelburne’s founder, or is there a stranger in our midst? Recently the fantastic Band, The Mudmen performed at Grace Tipling Hall and I covered the event for the residents of Shelburne. During an event such as this I take many photographs hoping to capture that one in a million band shot with wow factor and so now I beg the warning, be careful what you wish for. It wasn’t until a couple days had passed when I looked at the pics on my computer that I saw something that made me say, “Wow!”, but in a, “What the heck am I looking at!” way. These pictures are not tampered with in any way and I have no explanation for the images you see before you. I can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt that while present, I did not notice anything out of the ordinary even upon review of the pics still in camera at the concert. What are these strange lights, spirits? Anomalies? Historical roller skaters? Theatrical Performers? You be the judge. If you are ever at Grace Tipling Hall and find you smell the scent of cigar, feel someone brush by you, see someone out of the corner of your eye and no one is there, perhaps consider the alternative explanation, someone really is there! A true to life Halloween curiosity from Alex Sher and the Shelburne Free Press to you! Happy Halloween!
