OPP officers touched by act of kindness

February 25, 2015   ·   0 Comments

On Friday February 13, at 9 p.m. Dufferin OPP members were conducting an R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check on the 3rd Line at 5 Sideroad in Amaranth Township.
The weather on this particular night was very cold with high winds. The officers conducting the spot check were visibly cold from performing their duties standing on the roadway.
Two women that passed through the spot check took it upon themselves to attend the Tim Hortons in Shelburne and return with hot coffee for the officers. Unfortunately, before the young woman returned the officers had taken down the spot check to warm up and attend to other duties. Unable to locate the officers the young woman passed the coffee donation to a Shelburne Police Service officer who later passed it on to one of the officers from the ride spot check.
The OPP officers do not know the identity of the both woman who provided the coffee but wish to thank them both for their generosity and kindness. These acts of kindness are not uncommon in Dufferin County. This community support is very much appreciated by the our officers and helps make Dufferin County a great place to work.
