April 30, 2015   ·   0 Comments

This past Saturday Giant Tiger held its 54th Anniversary Birthday Bash, and what a party it was! Balloons, hot dogs a bouncy castle as well as great weather!
Giant Tiger is now Canada’s largest Canadian-owned discount retailer and the store was full with people of all ages, taking advantage of the many in-store bargains that were offered. The Shelburne store, like all of Giant Tiger’s 202 stores across Canada, held a charity barbeque as part of the celebration.
Outside it was hot behind the grill, however Giant Tiger employee Eric was not complaining when the proceeds from the barbeque were going to such a good cause, the OSPCA. Also outside was a line up of youngsters and their parents waiting to take their turn in the bouncy castle.
Everyone entering the store was greeted by the smiling faces of Debbie and Dianne, who were there to offer a taste sampling of a variety of Giant Value products, as well as explain all the ways you could help their cause, the OSPCA.
For a small donations there was a raffle to win a bag loaded full of Giant Value products while yellow and red balloons were available to pop! Inside each balloon was a either a Ginat Tiger gift card or coupons. Also available for a minimal cost, with a portion of the proceeds going to the OSPCA, was a very cuddly, very cute stuffed tiger resembling the Giant Tiger mascot.
There were bargains galore both in the store and out front on the sidewalk, and no shortage of shoppers taking advantage of them. Established in 1961 Giant Tiger is a family discount store providing fashion clothing, groceries and everyday basic needs at everyday low prices. Look for their featured items weekly on the front of the Shelburne Free Press.
