One Book, One County finale approaching

The grand finale of One Book One County Dufferin, featuring Charlotte Gray, will take place on Sunday, May 3, from 2-4 p.m. at Grace Tipling Hall in Shelburne. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Orangeville, Grand Valley and Shelburne Public Libraries and at BookLore.
Join Charlotte Gray for a reading from “The Massey Murder” and a conversation about the historical backdrop of one of Canada’s most sensational murder trials.
Charlotte Gray has won many awards for her work, including the prestigious Pierre Berton Award for a body of historical writing, the Edna Staebler Award for Creative Non-Fiction, the 2014 Toronto Book Award, and the CAA Birks Family Foundation Award for Biography. The author of nine acclaimed books of literary non-fiction, Charlotte Gray is one of Canada’s best-known writers.
A resident of Ottawa, Ms. Gray appears regularly on radio and television as a political and cultural commentator. She has been a judge for several of Canada’s most prestigious literary prizes, including the Giller Prize for Fiction, the Charles Taylor Prize for Non-fiction and the Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing. In 2014, she was short-listed as “Author of the Year” by the Canadian Booksellers Association. She is a member of the Order of Canada and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
On February 12, the 2015 book title “The Massey Murder: A Maid, Her Master and The Trial that Shocked a Country” was revealed at Dufferin County Council.
One Book One County (OBOC) is in its seventh year. The community-wide reading program allows all residents of Dufferin County to read together in a gigantic book club. The program promotes Canadian literature, reading and discussion by encouraging everyone to participate. OBOC is a partnership between the Orangeville, Grand Valley and Shelburne Public Libraries and BookLore.
