On Monday, April 20th Shelburne Police responded to a call from a citizen concerned about a possible impaired driver.
An officer located the vehicle in question driving out of town and conducted a vehicle stop. A roadside breath test was conducted on the female driving resulting in a fail. The female driver was arrested for operation over 80 and taken to a police station for further testing.
The breath test at the station indicated that the driver had more than double the legal limit of alcohol in her system.
As a result of the investigation, 48 year old Michelle Bishop of Shelburne was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operation Over 80. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused was released on a promise to appear with a first appearance court date in early May at the Orangeville Court House.
