The Grizzlies took an early lead in the first half of Wednesday's semi-final game and kept up the pressure for the entire half. Returning for the second half, the Grizzlies stayed focused on their objective and worked hard, picking up rebounds and rushing the net. The Glenbrook team opened up their lead in the second half and the game ended with a 32–20 win for the Grizzlies. This is the semi-final of the ‘A' pool round and the win advances the Grizzlies to the finals. “I think we're going to do pretty good, but the other team we're playing next is pretty tough too so I think we're going to have to step it up to win this,” said Grizzlies winger, Brodie Best. “We'll have two or three practices a week (leading to the final ). We'll try to get a lot in.” While the Grizzlies won by 12 points in Wednesday's game, the Credit Meadows team put up a good for fight for the entire match. “They were tough in the beginning but I think we started to get better as a team,” Brodie said. “We played to win and we came away with the win.” The Dufferin schools tournament featured four semi-final games this week in addition to the Glenbrook / Credit Meadows game. In the boy's ‘B' pool Hyland Heights was up against Spencer Avenue. In the girls tournament, Credit Meadows and Grand Valley met for the ‘B' pool with Spencer Avenue and Laurelwoods battling it out in the ‘A' pool semi-final. The winning teams will go on to the Dufferin Elementary School basketball finals which will be played on Tuesday, May 5, at Westside Secondary School in Orangeville.
