The Wesleyan Church in Orangeville hosted the 43rd Music for Life African Tour Children’s Choir on Sunday, Aug. 16th. The lively choir sang and danced with “a contagious enthusiasm” according to those in the audience. A capacity crowd “smiled and cheered” for the talented group from Uganda. Former members of the choir are now providing leadership as agriculturalists, nurses, doctors, lawyers, social workers, and teachers. These children hope they too can finish school to become leaders in their communities. One eight year old girl was quoted as saying, “I am in Primary 2 and would like to be a doctor someday. I am enjoying all the excitement and am looking forward to a future that includes education, and health care and especially hope.” The tour leader is Emily Gronow and Paster Carl Moulton was the host for the show. The Uganda choir also gave a performance at Rockcliffe Church in Owen Sound.
