Muskies announce new schedule

The Shelburne Muskies Senior AA team is full steam ahead for the start of the 2015 season.
The team has announced the new schedule for this year with opening day taking place on Saturday, October 3, at the Centre Dufferin Recreation complex in Shelburne. The Muskies will be hosting the Mapleton–Minto 81’s for the evening game.
The 81’s were the North Division champions last season.
Game two will see the Muskies on the road when they travel to Elora the following Friday to take on the Rock.
With the start of the season just over a month away, the Muskies have put the recruitment program into high gear.
Tryouts for the team will take get underway on Tuesday, September 8, at the Centre Dufferin Recreation
Complex. The second tryout day will take place on Sunday, September 13, at 4 p.m.
That will be followed by a third tryout session on Tuesday, September 15, at 9 p.m.
This will be the first season on the Muskies bench for new head coach Don McCarthy who signed on earlier this year and is planning on taking the squad to new success in 2015/16.
McCarthy is a local resident who is a former player with the Toronto Marlies and has extensive coaching experience.
The Muskies had a tough season in 2014/15 and McCarthy is looking to turn that around in the coming year.
The first Muskies home game of the season will get underway on Saturday, October 3rd, against Mapleton.
Game time is 8 p.m.
