Trespassers may be charged

October 30, 2015   ·   0 Comments

The OPP is issuing a reminder to people that trespassing on someone else’s property is an offence and anyone caught trespassing may be charged under the Trespass to Property Act (TPA). In some cases, the individual(s) may be charged with the criminal offence of theft, possession of stolen property and mischief.
This reminder comes after police received a trespassing and theft complaint on Wednesday, October 21, from a demolition company who have been contracted to reclaim a barn and a residence on Highway 10 south of Main Street West, Dundalk.
Since late September 2015, unknown persons have been entering the demolition site after hours and removing salvaged property.
Police urge residents to contact police immediately to report any suspicious people, vehicles or activities.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or submit a Web Tip to www.crimestop-gb.org. You may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
