RIDE check results in drug charges

On Friday January 8th Shelburne Police was conducting a RIDE spot check. Shortly after midnight a black BMW sedan that caught the officer’s attention entered the spot check. A roadside drug investigation ensued which led to a small amount of marijuana being seized. As a result 20 year old Shane Rogers of Mansfield was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. The accused was released on an appearance notice with a court date in early February to answer to the charges.
