The two neighbours, who built the free skate outdoor rink for the first time last year, are hard at work this winter trying to build up the ice to a more durable thickness. Skaters who took to the ice before it was truly solid enough has meant damage down to the grass. The men hope to flood the ice and leave it undisturbed for next week, at the very least, to get it into good shape for area ice enthusiasts. The 80 foot long by 48 foot wide rink – 16 feet longer and 16 feet wider than in 2015 – is flooded nightly by hand. Both men expressed gratitude to the Town of Shelburne, the Shelburne and District Fireboard and No Frills for their support of the rink.   Story and Photo by Marni Walsh --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2016-01-29 18:51:34 Post date GMT: 2016-01-29 23:51:34 Post modified date: 2016-01-29 18:51:34 Post modified date GMT: 2016-01-29 23:51:34 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
