Marketing Mommas get thumbs-up on Craft & Food Frenzy

Lindsay Wegener, Jill Brace and Althea Casamento were thrilled with Council’s decision to this week grant their organization, The Marketing Mommas, licensing for their “Craft and Food Frenzy” this spring.

The event, which will include many small home-based businesses as well as established vendors, food trucks, and local restaurants, will be held April 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Centre in the Town and Country Room.

The group told Council the event would be a good opportunity for new people in the community to get acquainted with businesses, new and old, in the area and encourage them to “shop local.”

The event ran with good success at last year’s Easter Egg Hunt.

Deputy Mayor Geoff Dunlop thanked the women for “stepping up” and Council declared the Craft and Food Frenzy a “community event” which assists the group with licensing.

The motion was passed and Mayor Bennington congratulated the group, asking them to keep Council informed, saying “we’ll do what we can to help.”
