Residents and businesses launch Better in Mulmur campaign

We can thank Canada Post for putting Mulmur on the map.

Sort of.

With the change of our postal address to Mulmur, local residents and businesses have to constantly field the question: “Where’s Mulmur?”

We’ve also had to endure numerous variations on spelling: Mulmar, Mulmer, Momar…

Without knowing where Mulmur is, many people regularly pass through our beautiful Township, or have been to some of our recreational hotspots, such as the Rosemont General Stone, the Dufferin County Museum & Archives, the Mansfield Ski Club, or the Honeywood Arena.

Surprisingly, even some Mulmur residents didn’t realise all these great places and more exist within our bounds.

Mulmur residents and local businesses are getting together to create the Better in Mulmur campaign: a grassroots marketing initiative designed to create community within, and awareness outside, of the Township of Mulmur.

It will also create a network which links our wonderful assets and strengthens our community.

We’re asking local businesses to display our logo on their premises, share it via social media and to include it in their printed advertising (brochures, event guides, etc.). This will help to create a sense of place throughout the Township, as well as linking positive experiences customers have on one side of the Township (say, at the DCMA), with those they might have at the other end (say, Honeywood Arena).

We feel the Better in Mulmur logo represents our community values and expresses the vibrant natural and cultural heritage of our Township.

The colours of the logo mirror the elements that make up our Township Crest:  The gold represents the agricultural heritage of our Township, and the green represents our rolling hills, diverse wildlife and rich natural heritage.

The blue represents our freshwater rivers and streams, and the pink heart represents the amazing people who make our Township what it is (not to mention some pretty amazing sunsets, too).  The Better in Mulmur Logo was designed by Mulmur artist Ken Hall.

The Better in Mulmur campaign is citizen-led and is not affiliated with the Mulmur Township Council. The logo is intended to be complimentary to the official Township branding, and not replace or supersede it.

We have produced transparent window clings, which are perfect for putting on the front windows and doors of local businesses, or in residents’ cars.  They are easily removable and will not leave any residue on glass surfaces.

The clings are available to anyone wishing to proudly display the Better in Mulmur logo.

Anyone wishing to obtain a window cling to show their support can pick one up free of charge at the Terra Nova Public House.  Digital versions of the logo can be downloaded from the website: betterinmulmur.ca/resources.

We think that Mulmur is a pretty special place.  From our rich history to our exciting future, we’re proud to celebrate this amazing community!
