Coaches have fun on the ice with Minor Hockey

March 26, 2016   ·   0 Comments

As a way of saying “Thank You” to their coaches the Shelburne Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) hosted a fun game of coaches versus coaches March 9 at Shelburne’s home arena on Fiddle Park Lane.

What fun it was watching these coaches navigate their way on the ice practicing what they preach to their teams at every practice and game.

Most of the skaters, skilled as on the ice as in their knowledge of the game of Canada’s game, just added some spice and hilarity to this first ever game of coaches.

What a mixture of ages it was, and fun was the name of the game, as well as the good cause they helped by charging a gate fee of food donations only for the local food bank.

Spectators were very amused and many fits of giggles could be heard from the wives, girlfriends, and mothers eagerly watching. The Town of Shelburne were very privileged to have witnessed this fun filled, comedic spectacle and we certainly hope it will now be a regular occurrence.

A big thank you goes out to Coach Jonathon Geiring for coming up with this idea and organizing it,  and the SMHA for agreeing!

We look forward to next year’s show!
