New Books:

I have two book recommendations this week; very different, but I know many of you will enjoy reading them. Enjoy is really not the right word for When Breath Becomes Air, by Paul Kalanithi. It is a profound conversation with author Dr. Paul Kalanithi who discovers at age 34, he has terminal lung cancer.

The endurance, the courage and the tenacity that he and his wife show during the process is heartwrenching and deeply moving.

Some of their decisions will really touch you. You will probably cry, but the strength and weaknesses of this journey will have you thinking deeply about the meaning of life.

The other book is one for our romance readers who like a slightly different take on the sweet happily ever afters.

The Sea Keeper’s Daughters by Lisa Wingate is one of the Carolina Chronicles.

The characters in this novel are eccentric and delightful at times. The setting is North Carolina where Whitney Monroe is in danger of losing her high-end restaurant; however, with many twists and turns, struggles, and of course, a circuitous romance it is a delightful read.

It does keep you wanting to move along to the end with anticipation as to how it will all work out?
