They’re scoring, but they’re just not coming out on top so far.

The Shelburne Junior C Vets are still looking for their first win of the season after four games.

The Vets’ season got underway on Friday, May 6, when they hosted the Halton Hills Bulldogs at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex, but they came up short taking a 17-7 loss to the visitors.

In Game Two of the season, the squad travelled to Six Nations to take on the Warriors. It was late in the second frame before the Vets could score and they had to settle for a 19-4 loss.

Returning to their home floor at the CDRC on Friday, May 13, the Vets put up a good fight against the Warriors in their second game in a row.

This time, the Shelburne team managed to get through the Warriors defence to score nine times, but a third period that saw the Vets outscore the Warriors 3-2 came a little too late and they had to settle for an 11-9 loss.

The second game of the weekend had the Vets in Oakville to take on the Buzz.

After playing to a 4-4 tie in the first period the Vets ran into trouble and ended with a 21-10 loss.

The loss leaves the Vets tied with Mimico for last place in the West Division of the OJCLL.

The Vets will return to the CDRC this Friday, May 20, to host Oakville.

Game time is 8.00 p.m.
