Children's Programs

The TD Summer Reading Program is getting closer; remember to sign up. The registration sheet will be up this week. There will be a calendar available soon with all the activities for the summer, so please keep watching the website or check at the Library for more details.

Paws to Read has some openings in the schedule. If you know of someone who would like to read to Mac the poodle, he loves having stories read to him.

Storytime is busy on Fridays at 10.30 a.m. for preschoolers. Storytime will continue in the summer at the same time.

The Lego club is on Wednesdays at 3.30 for ages 8 and up.

We are planning a Lego Club for the younger children on Wednesdays at 2.30 during the summer. Let us know if your child would be interested in joining Check the web siteĀ or call 519-925-2168 for more information about any of these programs. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook pages (/shelburnelibrary) to stay up-to-date.

Teen Scene:

This week, teens will be discussing two books, Everything, Everything and Matched.

As always, our discussion will centre on the four dominant appeal factors: story, character, setting, and language. It is always interesting to find out why a book appeals to the group. (Or not!)

Secondly, as the Teen Summer Reading Challenge is quickly approaching, there is a survey in the YA section which aims to find out what Teens want to do at the Library this summer! Fill it out and put your name on it to be entered into a draw. The winning survey will be drawn Thursday, July 7, during the Teen Summer Reading Challenge Launch Party!
