Festival church service is “alive and well”

The Heritage Music Festival is fast approaching.

The Heritage Music festival Church Service, or as many know it, the Fiddleville Church Service, is alive and well.

Yes, the service is still on, and is as good as ever. It just has a new name.

As I help prepare the Church service, the Shelburne Ministerial will host Sunday, August 7 at 10 a.m. in the Shelburne Arena, I cannot help but remember Rev. Bruce Besley and the vision he had for this service some 41 years ago.

I have done my best to keep his memory and his vision of this service alive, and it has been a great joy to lead and organize the service over the past 11 years.

Joy and Laughter, good Gospel music and lots of fiddle specials have made it a very uplifting and encouraging service for the whole family. Please come out and be blessed this year; we have the Torchmen, a Gospel Quartet who have sung together for over 45 years in places like the Grand Old Opry, in Kentucky, and the Air Canada Centre here in Ontario, which you don't want to miss; Ian Leith and Scott Woods, both unbelievable fiddlers; and our local talent led by Greg Holmes - the Shelburne Fiddlers, and the Jamboree band - who will be leading us in worship and praise.

We look forward to seeing you out at the service.

Many blessings .

Rev. Gord Horsley

Chair, Shelburne Ministerial & Senior Pastor of Abiding Place Fellowship
