This Saturday, November 26, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., the Shelburne Kinettes will host a gift and craft fair at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex located 200 Fiddle Park Lane, with proceeds going to Shelburne’s Christmas Hamper.

We are told they have lined up some amazing vendors who will be offering a wide variety of gifts and crafts that are sure to put a smile on that special someone’s face on Christmas morning.

Who are the Kinettes? Founded by Hal Rogers on February 20, 1920, Kin Canada is the nation’s largest all-Canadian service club organization. Kinsmen, Kinette and Kin clubs across the country work to better their communities, enhance the well-being of Canadians and improve the environment.

The Association boasts a proud history dedicated to fostering life-long friendships while “Serving the Community’s Greatest Need.”

Kinsmen, Kinette and Kin Clubs across Canada have contributed over $1 billion to Canadian communities. Today, there are around 500 clubs and 6500 members from coast-to-coast.

Not just for the adults, this sale will have a “Santa’s secret shop”, which allows kids to shop for gifts for their parents. With help from a Kinette, children can pick out and purchase gifts for $2 and have them wrapped and ready to put under the tree. Then they can go have their picture taken with Santa for FREE!

Proceeds from the show, as well as from the Kinettes kitchen will be going towards Shelburne’s Christmas Hamper program. These much needed and extremely appreciated hampers typically include such things as; food items, food vouchers, gift vouchers, new books, pajamas, socks, hats mittens, gloves and scarves.

Filling the hampers is done through a joint effort that includes the Shelburne Rotary, Lions, Kinsmen and Kinettes Clubs, who each carry out different tasks making this all possible.

Registration for Christmas Hampers starts this week at the Mel Lloyd Center, in the Community Meeting Room on November 23 from 11 am until 1 pm, November 24 from 7 pm until 9 pm, November 30 from 11 am until 1 pm, with the last day being December 1 from 7 pm until 9 pm.  For more information on this program or to register you can contact Bobbi Ferguson at shelburnechristmashamper@gmail.com.
