Shelburne Library News: Silent Auction & Book Sale: Saturday, November 26th 10:00 am to 3:45pm

By Rose Dotten

IT IS HAPPENING: exceptional donations have been coming in during this last week before our sale. A lovely, luxurious basket from Granny Taught Us How; wooden coasters, coat racks and growth chart by David Barr; lovely rag quilt and delicious Christmas cakes and puddings from Cheryl Soper; an airplane flight donated by David and Mary Hawthorne; a canoe book shelf; many gift and certificates from local merchants AND so much more. I can't begin to list them all. So, come out and see for yourself, bring your friends and support the library with your purchases. We also have about 25 + of our popular book baskets. They make great holiday gifts

Christmas Floral Arrangement

Mark Sunday, December 18 @ 1:30 on your calendar. We are hosting a floral arrangement workshop led by Shirley from Shirley's Garden Supply. We held this event last year with all arrangements ready for your Christmas table, mantle or gift giving. There are two styles to choose from this year. The cost is $50 and includes all materials. Please call 519-925-2168 to sign up. We already have six attending so call as spaces are limited.

Children's Programs

All our regular programs are running this week.

Story Time on Fridays is very busy. Please give us a call if you would like to join us. It is on Friday mornings from 10:30 to 11:15 am. There are only four story times left this year.

LEGO Club is every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. There is a new theme each week for ages six and up. There are only three LEGO programs before the holidays

The Paws to Read program is going well on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. There are only a few more visits until the holidays.

For any or all our programs please call us at 519-925-2168.

Teen Scene:

ATTENTION Teens looking for community service hours! Come to YOUR Library on Thursday, November 24 at 5 p.m. to help plan December's Fan-demonium! Let's make this fandom celebration what YOU want it to be. Once the planning session is complete, there will be more opportunities for community service hours through the planning and execution of this event.

As for our regular schedule, Teens are invited to the Pizza & Pages Book Club meeting this Thursday, November 26 from 6 – 7 p.m. where we will discuss Shade Me, and create some canvas art. Wear old clothes, it's going to be messy.

Scheduled for December:

Thursday, December 1 – Glass Christmas Creatures

Thursday, December 8 —Second Annual Gingerbread House Decorating Competition (registration preferred)

Thursday, December 5—Fan-demonium! Fandom Party

As always, letting us know you will be coming allows us to be better prepared for the activity. You can call 519-925-2168, follow us on Facebook (/shelburnelibrary) or Twitter (@ShelburnePL).
