The Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre held its Annual Ladies Night on November 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. With definitely a lot more women attending this year over prior years, they are calling it a big success.

The Fourth Annual event was a more relaxed atmosphere, where customers could mingle, enjoy some amazing food, beverages and desserts and shop at their leisure, while stopping at their information areas for the latest Home Hardware ideas.

The new relaxed format was organized based on customer feedback from last years’ event in which customers wanted more time to actually shop! It was also a nice social event where customers could meet and catch up with each other while enjoying some shopping time.

That night, Home Hardware was offering 20 per cent off all regularly priced items and 25 per cent off all Christmas items.

The doors opened at 6.30 p.m. With informative areas for customers to speak with some of the wonderful Home Hardware staff and their vendors on related topics like LED lighting, tools and accessories, paint and home decor ideas.

Customers were also treated to a free cup of coffee distributed by Beaver Rock Roastery, one of their main coffee suppliers. Every customer was given a gift before leaving at their newly renovated Kitchen Centre with two new kitchen displays.

“We would like to thank all the ladies and staff who participated in our Annual Ladies Night on November 22,” Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre tells us. “With over 250 people in attendance, the evening was a great success, with customers receiving a warm drink as they came in from the cold from Beaver Rock Roastery!”

There was a draw at the end of the evening with a total of gifts and prizes of $6,500 being given away with congratulations to all the evenings prize winners, and a special congratulations to the grand prize winners: Kelly Montgomery, who won $200 in store credit; Mary Coats, who won $300 in store credit; and Wendy Travis, who won $500 iin store credit.

The evening ended with a wonderful announcement from store owner Bill Gillam that Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre will once again be contributing to the Shelburne District Schools’ Breakfast Program with their Donate-A-Plate Challenge.

The initiative will begin Thursday, December 1, and they will be collecting customer donations until the end of the month. Once again, Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre promises to match all funds raised up to $5,000.

The Donate-A-Plate Challenge was such a great success last year, with a grand total of $12,500 being raised that they hope with help from customers they can surpass the grand total from last year.

Home Hardware sends a special thank you to the staff of the Royal Bank of Canada in Shelburne for providing their first donation of $250 during the Annual Ladies Night.
