Down and Derby was held this past Saturday evening at the Shelburne Legion to support the local Cub Scouts in Shelburne.

With approximately 25 entries in two categories, it was anybody’s guess as to who would win by just looking at these Kar creations.

While the entrants and spectators enjoyed a dinner prior to the actual race, it was evident that this was for more than just fun for a few of the entrants.

From left to right (back) Stephanie Avery, who won for Prettiest Kar, Steve Arnold who won for Manliest Kar, Sharon O’Gorman, who won for official Kub Kar rules and Jeff Pryma who won the open class and was the overall winner. (front) Linda Rayburn, who won for the Kar that most represented Shelburne, and Kim Arnold won for having the slowest Kar.
