Sample: I will exhaust all avenues to keep Shelburne Police

CANDIDATE: DAN SAMPLE

RUNNING FOR: DEPUTY MAYOR

I am presently an elected member of your Town Council.

I have lived in Dufferin County most of my life. In 2012, my wife and two young children moved to Shelburne.  We love the small town feel of Shelburne and quickly learned it was a great, safe community to raise our children.

From the very first day I moved here, I have been very involved in the community.  My participation in local events, volunteer initiatives and the sporting community give me a broad perspective on the needs of Shelburne.

I recently retired from Honda Canada after a very successful 30- year career.  I bring project management and a wide berth of leader training to the position of Deputy Mayor, including skills in effective listening, leadership management training, analytical problem solving, and effective meeting strategies.  As senior Production Coordinator I led projects that standardized Honda plants throughout North America. During this time, I acquired many skills that have proven beneficial to my role in Town Council.

I am a hard worker, quick thinker and a fact-based decision maker. In the past four years on council I have proven myself to be a valuable asset to our town.

As your Deputy Mayor, I will continue to be here for you every single day. You can count on me to address each of your concerns and provide feedback in person if necessary. In the past four years I have worked countless hours for you in meetings, committees, events, you name it – I’m there. I know your concerns. I will exhaust all avenues to keep the Shelburne Police, I will continue to work with council to ensure our infrastructure needs are met, and I will fight for affordable housing and multi-unit dwellings. I have recently been in contact with a developer that specializes in senior housing projects. The truck by-pass and safety on our streets are of utmost importance to me. I have been very involved with events in an effort to bring our entire community together and will continue to do so. I know that our youth desperately need recreational activities and I have ideas – starting with getting the CDRC to offer children and youth programs.  I have been looking into short term transit solutions that other towns are using that have proven to be successful.  With all of these endeavors, I am thankful that members of council have many resources and consultants available to us to help get these things done. Our town lawyer, town planner, staff that can look into grants, etc. are available whenever we need them to investigate items.

If you would like to discuss anything with me, I invite you to call or text me at (519) 216-5067.  Please make sure you vote.  It is very easy for this election whether by phone or internet.  Make sure your voice is heard!

On October 22nd Vote Dan Sample for Deputy Mayor so we can continue to make Shelburne a great place to live. We’re in this Together!
