David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, recently accompanied Prime Minister Stephen Harper to London, United Kingdom, and Paris, France.

“I was honoured to accompany Prime Minister Harper on the first and second stops on his working visit to Europe,” said Mr. Tilson. “We were able to further build on our dialogue as to how our countries can work together to strengthen the global economy, enhance transparency and accountability, as well as address other key issues including international security.”

While in London, Mr. Tilson attended a wreath laying at Westminster Abbey on the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, participated in a business roundtable with leaders in the extractive sector, and attended the Prime Minister’s Address to the Parliament of the United Kingdom.

While in Paris, Mr. Tilson accompanied Prime Minister Harper to Élysée Palace where they both met with François Hollande, the President of the French Republic, and where an Enhanced Cooperation Agenda (ECA) with France was announced. The ECA provides a strategic framework for implementing further economic, social, political, and security initiatives between Canada and France.
