Giant Tiger supports the local foodbank

June 27, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Giant Tiger held a fundraiser for the Shelburne Foodbank on Saturday. The event, which included a barbecue, parking lot sale and free popcorn and face painting, raised $120. The food bank will be paid in gift cards, which in turn can be used to purchase items at Shelburne Giant Tiger, some with a discounted price tag. In 2013, the Shelburne Giant Tiger, owned by Andrew Lewis, has raised more than $1000 for the local foodbank. Lewis says this is because, “it’s, prevalent to the needs of the Town”. In the past, the Shelburne Giant Tiger store has supported other not-for-profit agencies, including the breakfast program at local schools, and Lewis says he will consider any reasonable request for fundraising. “It’s got to have value to the townspeople,” he said. Pictured above: children get their faces painted while their parents shop. Now that’s a great deal from Giant Tiger!
