The event, which included a barbecue, parking lot sale and free popcorn and face painting, raised $120. The food bank will be paid in gift cards, which in turn can be used to purchase items at Shelburne Giant Tiger, some with a discounted price tag. In 2013, the Shelburne Giant Tiger, owned by Andrew Lewis, has raised more than $1000 for the local foodbank. Lewis says this is because, “it's, prevalent to the needs of the Town”. In the past, the Shelburne Giant Tiger store has supported other not-for-profit agencies, including the breakfast program at local schools, and Lewis says he will consider any reasonable request for fundraising. “It's got to have value to the townspeople,” he said.
