Shelburne Public Library posts new summer hours

Written By ROSE DOTTEN

YOUR Library is now open Tuesday evenings until 8pm. Now you will have even more time to stop in. Keep your eyes open for some interesting programming and events on Tuesday evenings.

Traveler's Tales

You'll be able to “travel” the Caribbean from the comfort of YOUR Library on Tuesday, June 25th @ 7pm. Brittany from Big Time Travels will guide us through Bermuda, Aruba, and Curacao, followed by a short social time, light refreshments included. Email jnoble@shelburnelibrary.ca to let us know you'll be coming!

Adult Summer Reading Challenge

Summer reading fun is not only for kids and teens this year! Starting Thursday, June 20th, for every book you read and return you will be given a ballot to “spend” like money on one of our three prizes! More books read = more ballots earned. Winning ballots for each prize will be drawn Thursday, September 12th! You are able to read any book(s) of your choice, but we will have a couple of themed displays—this month's theme is “Judge a Book by its Cover.” Happy reading!

As of Tuesday, July 18, 6:30 pm we will be starting our new ESL classes. If you, a family member or a friend would like to improve your English this summer, this is the place to be! Call us at 519-925-2168 to register.

Other Events

We will be starting our Tech Tutor classes on Tuesday, June 18 @ 2:00 pm. You will be able to get individual help with your technology issues – set up email, learn to Skype, download books etc. (Sorry, we don't fix computers!!)

TEEN SCENE:

We are wishing the Teens the best of luck as they complete their exams! Our favourite time of the year is just around the corner—that's right, it's almost summer reading time! Teens can pick up their summer reading packages on Tuesday, July 2nd during our launch party! We have a summer full of creative, wacky, and not so quiet activities planned for the summer, so you won't want to miss out. Did we mention there will be prizes? Register by dropping by YOUR Library or emailing jnoble@shelburnelibrary.ca.

Upcoming events:

Tuesday, June 25th, 4:00-5:00pm- Fresh Ink

Tuesday, July 2nd, 4:00-5:00pm- Teen Summer Reading Challenge Launch Party!
