Drugs discovered during traffic stop

On Tuesday  July 16th at 11:10 p.m., Dufferin OPP members were conducting routine radar patrol on County Road 11 in Amaranth  Township in Dufferin County.

At 11:43 p.m., police stopped a Honda Civic vehicle for the offence of speeding, 113 km per hour, in an 80  km/hr zone.

Police detected an odour of marijuana in the vehicle. Police searched the vehicle and seized drug paraphernalia.

Police also seized hash oil and cocaine. The male driver was subsequently placed under arrest for possession of the illegal drugs.

He was transported to the Dufferin OPP detachment, booked and later released with a upcoming court date in Orangeville.
