Hand crafted eagle head walking stick up for raffle

A local small business is hosting a raffle draw to raise donations in support of Indigenous communities and residential school survivors.
Da Bomb Bath Salts and Co is raffling off a hand-crafted eagle head walking stick, donated by the Headwaters Carving Club, to help raise funds which will be given to Serpent River First Nation.
“I think everyone is very aware of what’s going on with Indigenous children being found in the graves, it’s a heartbreaking and horrible tragedy, and we really wanted to give back,” says Gillian Duncan, owner of the bath product company. “If we can educate, help anybody, or make a difference in any way possible, even if it’s something really small, we would like to do that.”
Duncan says they chose to give the donations to Serpent River First Nation, which is located in Culter, Ont., following the death of family member who grew up in Serpent River. The donation will be made in honour of Wayne Frost.
Tickets for the raffle are currently available (3 for $5 and 10 for $ 10), and can be purchased by contacting Da Bomb Bath Salts and Co. on Instagram or Facebook. The tickets are also available at Towne Fitness, Shelburne Optometry, and Shelburne Family Chiropractic.
Duncan says their goal is to raise $500 and as of the end of October have raised around $450.
The draw will take place on Dec. 18. A hundred per cent of the proceeds will be donated.
