CRIME OF THE WEEK: $50,000 theft of snow tires and rims

Crime Stoppers of Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka along with the Barrie Police Service are requesting the assistance of the public in solving this crime.

Sometime over the Thanksgiving weekend between Saturday October 12th and Tuesday October 15th a break, enter and theft occurred at Douglas Ford Lincoln at the corner of Bayfield Street and Cundles Road.

Unknown suspects entered the rear yard area of the car dealership and stole approximately $50,000 worth of snow tires, rims and other vehicle accessories.

Due to the large quantity of items that were stolen, a cube van or other type of large vehicle was likely used by the suspects.

Barrie Police is continuing their investigation and would like to hear from anyone who saw a large vehicle at the rear of Douglas Ford during this time period.

Snow tires and rims don’t just disappear. Someone knows where they are.
