Fail to Remain Collision – Appeal to Public to Assist Identifying Suspect Vehicle and Driver.

The Shelburne Police Service is appealing to the public to assist in a fail to remain motor vehicle collision. The collision which occurred at the intersection of Jelly Street and Centre Street on Monday December 16th sent a female to hospital by ambulance. She was released the following day with minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle had a brief conversation with the victim. He then fled the scene in his damaged car when a bystander called 9-1-1.

Police are looking for a newer model 4 door sedan, light grey in colour with damage to the driver side front wheel area.

The driver was described as a white male, mid 20’s to early 30’s, short black curly hair, medium build and had very badly chapped lips.

Shelburne Woman Arrested and Charged for Abusing Power of Attorney and Pocketing over $11,000.00 from Elderly Man: Shelburne Police launched an investigation after being alerted that a 79 year resident of Shelburne Residence Nursing Home was having financial troubles.

The investigation revealed that there was over $11,000 taken out of the victim’s bank account and used by his power of attorney for personal gain.  The money was gradually withdrawn over the past 2 ½ years.

As a result a 44 year old Shelburne resident was arrested on Monday December 16th and charged with Theft over $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Criminal Breach of Trust.  She was released on a promise to appear with a court date in January 2014.

Shelburne Man Charged with Assault and Criminal Harassment – Threatening Conduct in Historical Domestic Abuse Case

On Monday December 16th Shelburne Police arrested and charged a 45 year old Shelburne man in response to allegations of an assault and threatening behaviour that occurred in 2012.

The male was held for a bail hearing. The name of the accused is withheld for the benefit of the victim.
