Shelburne man charged with Child Luring

Shelburne Police launched an investigation after a parent of a youth expressed concerns over an adult male’s interaction with their daughter.

The investigation identified three female victims under the age of 16 of child luring. The three victims are from Shelburne and surrounding area.

As a result, a Shelburne man was arrested on Tuesday January 28th. He has been charged with three counts of Child Luring and three counts of Invitation to Sexual Touching under the Criminal Code of Canada.  The accused was held for a show cause hearing.

The name of the accused is being withheld for the protection of the victims.

All youth and parents are reminded to be cautious when using Internet, social media, texting and cell phones. Parents are encouraged to speak with their children about online safety and to monitor their children’s use of social media and cell phones.
