OPP investigate fatal collision in Amaranth

At approximately 12:30 p.m. March 22, Dufferin OPP were dispatched to personal injury collision involving two vehicles on Dufferin County 109 between the 5th and 6th line in Amaranth Township.
Preliminary Investigation reveals the vehicles were involved in a head on collision and six people involved are being transported to Headwaters Hospital with injuries by Dufferin EMS.
Dufferin OPP are now confirming the identity of male passenger who succumbed to his injuries in this fatal collision as Spencer McFayden, 6 years of age of Grand Valley. The five other persons involved remain in hospital being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. Next of kin have been notified.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators have completed their examination of the scene are on scene. The investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been laid at this time.
Police are appealing to public that if anyone witnessed this collision they should contact Provincial Constable Ish Lad of Dufferin OPP via OPP Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122.
