Shelburne Fair: new for 2014!

You thought you'd seen it all, right? Ha! Wrong. The Shelburne Fair has a few new twists this year, that you won't want to miss.

First and foremost, of course, is our new Exhibit Hall! We are in the process of transforming our barn to be used for our very own Exhibit Hall. We are very excited and think you will be pleased when you see your entries on display.

We've moved some things around: this over here, that over there. Let's just say, we are in flux, and in a good way.

Also new this year, we are going to Yarn Bomb a Tractor! Why? Because we can. If you are a knitter, you are encouraged to knit some shapes ahead of time, or join us in knitting while you are there. Or just to watch. Knitting can be a spectator sport. Okay, it isn't usually, but it can be – especially when there is a tractor involved.

Also new this year is the Poster Contest. I know, there's been one for kids forever, but this year everyone is eligible to participate. The rules are simple: promote Shelburne Fair (duh), with name and date of Fair clearly shown. No raised items, electrical or moving parts – you probably weren't going to do that anyway, but those are the Ontario Association of Agricultural Society's rules. The poster must be mounted on a standard full sheet of Bristol board. Please drop your Poster off by August 1 to the office of the Shelburne Free Press on Main Street in Shelburne, where it will be prominently displayed in their window. Winner goes on to compete for even more prize money!

There will be lots of other new things, but I don't want to ruin all the surprises! See you at the Fair.
