On July 26, at 2:55 p.m. an officer from the Dufferin Detachment of the OPP was conducting speed enforcement in the Town of Mono. The officer observed a northbound 2003 Pontiac Vibe on 3rd line EHS of Mono south of the 5th Sideroad travelling at a high rate of speed. He determined that the driver was operating the vehicle at 131 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone.

At 6:25 p.m. on southbound Highway 10 at Dufferin County 10 in Town of Mono the same officer was conducting speed enforcement. A 2010 Honda Van was clocked at 142 in 80 km zone.

As a result of the traffic stop, 28 year Mono male and 43 year old Oakville male were both charged with Race a Motor Vehicle.

The vehicles were impounded for seven days as a result of the stunt driving charge.

Both drivers are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a later date.
