Community Support Leader for the March of Dimes, Ann Abbott commented, “Oh, it's an amazing building and we should have more just like it in the community. The program is a partnership with C.C.A.C (Community Care Access Centre). We provide personal care to those who need that kind of personal service. Our residents are wonderful.” Enriching the lives of those who take part, the March of Dimes team celebrate each year, marking another annual success with a barbecue. A celebration in a carnival theme this year meant that residents and family and friends could take part in the festivities and enjoy balloon animals, excellent food and some outside entertainment as young volunteers performed on stilts, hula hooped adding to the excitement of the day. Resident Trudy Dougall, obvious in her appreciation of the quality of life she enjoys commented, “It's really great here, the girls are so nice. I have absolutely no complaints. The apartments are fitted for wheelchairs and they are a good size, but really, it's the girls who are just really great!” Trudy Dougall's sister, Sharon Dougall shared in the day's festivities and as a caring sibling would, commented, “The girl's are really great and there's always someone there when she needs it.” Comfort, security and care-does it get any better than that?
