Man charged – withdrew funds from senior’s bank account

On Monday, August 11, Grey County OPP initiated a fraud investigation after the complainant discovered that thousands of dollars had been withdrawn from his elderly mother’s bank account in Dundalk.
Investigation revealed that the accused had been using the victim’s debit card at the CIBC ATM to withdraw money from her account since December 2011. The accused and the victim, who is 94 years of age, are known to each other.
A 69 year old, Township of Southgate, man has been charged with fraud and is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, September 25.
