Shelburne has grown–up on Johnny’s Pizza

For as long as Shelburnites can remember, there has always been a Johnny's Pizza. It may have changed locations over the years, but it was a constant staple in the community and remains strong and true today. Now owned and operated by Sam Pecorella, son of original owner, John Pecorella, the family business remains in good hands.
Keeping a family legacy alive requires hard work and dedication, and Johnny's Pizza's legendary pizza has helped sustain this family business over many years.
Fifty years ago, while in grade nine, Sam Pecorella can remember making the now locally famous pizza recipe with his grandfather at the Savoia Bakery. Clearly talent and skill transcends a family three generations strong. Pecorella is visionary in his approach to business and while it takes money to make money, the hard work is well worth the reward in his opinion. “ We will be expanding, having a dining area, adding more ovens, more refrigeration which will lessen wait time. It's a hard busy life and the fast food restaurant industry is very demanding. To keep up with the fast pace, we try to make as many people happy as possible. Renovations and additions will help,” commented Pecorella.
Many of Pecorella's part-time student employees have carried on in their mentor's footsteps and gone on to have pizza making businesses of their own, much to the pride of Pecorella, but nothing compares to the deeply emotional appreciation Pecorella has for both his parents. Their hard work, dedication and unwavering commitment to their family and the business that sustained their family, also raised a small Town's generation on Pizza. Pecorella will always keep that deep respect close to his heart and be forever grateful. “My father is very happy with our progress,” commented Pecorella.
For Pecorella, the business is all about life well lived, the passion for friends and neighbours and the extension of sincerity as he continues to invest in Shelburne and the community.
Pecorella hopes that all renovations and equipment additions will be completed by sometime in November 2014 and the future is looking bright for Johnny's Pizza in Shelburne. The legacy lives on!
