Shelburne Library news

October 1, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Next week starting Monday, September 29th, we will be supporting the Alzheimer Society with a Coffee Break Café. Enjoy a cup of coffee as you browse the shelves. This is the one week of the year that you are actually encouraged to have a cup of coffee in the library. A small donation to the Alzheimer Society is appreciated.
New! Spanish Classes
We have an exciting opportunity to offer Spanish classes for travelers. Come to the library on Tuesday, October 7 at 7 p.m. for an information meeting or call the library at 519 925-2168 for more information. We have an excellent Instructor and are looking forward to offering these classes. There will be a cost involved.
More News
You will see us very busy for the next few months as we start planning the move of our Children’s Library section to its own beautiful space downstairs. This will provide us with much needed space for our books and materials upstairs and allow us to have the best possible ways to continue to serve our growing community. There will be lots of new developments but always with our traditions and our history as the pillars of our library. In order to clear the space for renovations, we will be holding a Giant Book Sale all next week: October 7 to 10 while the library is open. We will also be using our special donations for Book baskets that sell so well at our Silent Auction which will be held November 29th this year. Last year, we had 35 baskets and they all sold!!
Silent Auction: November 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
We will be most appreciative once again for donations of articles for the sale. This is our main fundraiser of the year and it certainly helps with purchasing new books for our collection.
