Children's Programs Friday, December 19th, 10:30 a.m. will be the last Children's Story time for this year. The theme will be Christmas… Christmas songs, stories and crafts. We had a very nice group involved in our Christmas crafts session last Saturday. We were delighted when a few Moms joined in and made their versions of the crafts and cards. We hope to do more Saturday craft sessions in the new year for adults and children. Book Clubs Both Rose's Book Club and Pizza and Pages our Teen book club will be held next Thursday at their usual times: 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. respectively. Be prepared for lots of new books for the holiday season and some afternoon tea and Christmas cookies. Board Meeting Tuesday, December 16th The Shelburne Public Library Board meets the third Tuesday of every month so our December meeting was held Tuesday evening. This was also a time to welcome the new appointees from our municipalities and said goodbye to the members who have served with so much dedication over the past four years, in this case, instead of goodbye, I would rather say au revoir, until we meet again. The new appointees are Gail Little from Amaranth replacing Heather Foster, David Besley From Melancthon replacing Bill Hill, Sharon Martin from Mono replacing Ken McGhee, Janet Horner from Mulmur replacing Lynn Hilchey and Geoff Dunlop renewed from the Town of Shelburne. We certainly will miss Bill, Ken Heather and Lynn who have contributed so much but look forward to new ideas and ongoing work for our community with our new members. There will be 4 more appointees from the Town of Shelburne at their next Council meeting. It is with mixed feelings we also said au revoir to Beverly Ford-Arnold who is leaving the Board after 25 years as an incredibly dedicated and committed Board member, volunteer, Holiday Home organizer and so much more.
