LL Midget 2 New Year’s win

Too much Christmas turkey didn't hold back Shelburne Wolves Midget 2 on Jan. 4th at their home arena when they played their first successful game of 2015 against Midland #1.
A slow start for both teams, getting the feel of the puck again after the Christmas break, took time, as period 1 brought the first and second goals from Midland. Shelburne slacking behind put on the speed and finally scored, their first goal in period one with Rhett Fleming assisting Dylan Dever to land the first one in the net.
Period two swung into action both teams now flying, allowed Sam Willoughby unassisted to net goal 3. The players now using their teamwork to keep the puck in the opponents zone, Shelburne knew this would be a tough game and Midland's defence was water tight.
Midget LL2 played well in 2014 and had more wins than losses, but now had a challenge with this thrifty team from Midland. However, period 3 brought the win to Shelburne as the final score was 7–2 over Midland, final 4 goals being scored by Kyle Burke unassisted, Tristan Melnik assisted by DylanDever, Liam Mc leod, assisted by Jared Moore and goal seven by Kyle Burke assisted again by Jared Moore.
The team are refreshed and ready for their next game against Honeywood on Friday 9th at the opponents home arena. The coaching staff would like to thank all their sponsors who make the hockey season possible.
