Swimming for 7 years she has only competed for the last 4 of those years and is coached by Courtney Desjardins, out of the Dorodo Stars located in Caledon. Recently Adeleecia competed in the Division 3, 10 and Under Team Championships, where she placed 1st in the 50 meter Back Stroke, 2nd in the 100 meter Freestyle and 100 meter Back Stroke, and 3rd in the 200 meter Freestyle and 100 meter Individual Medley, which in turn advanced her to the Eswim Central Regionals S.C. Championships. At Regionals Adeleecia finished 1st in the 200 meter Individual Medley, 2nd in the 200 meter Back Stroke and 3rd in the 400 meter Freestyle and 100 meter Freestyle. Based on these results she has now moved on to Swim Ontario Festivals, (a provincial meet) which is being held at the Etobicoke Olympium. This facility is site of the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games aquatics training venue for swimming, water polo, synchronized swimming and diving, and has recently undergone many renovations to accommodate the games. In her short 7 years of swimming she has meet and trained with Canadian Olympian's Amanda Reason, former world record holder in the 50 meter Breast Stroke, Annamay Pierse, former world record holder in the 200 meter Breast Stroke and well as Keith Beavers an Orangeville native who excelled in the 200 meter Back Stroke. Adeleecia's future goal in swimming is to go to the Olympics and become the world record holder in the 200 meter Back Stroke. Training for hours a week has brought her to this next prestigious level of competing at Swim Ontario Festivals the weekend of February 21st, where only the top 31 swimmers in Division 3 compete. This is a huge accomplishment and we wish her the best of luck at this meet and all her future meets. Go Adeleecia Go!
