Shelburne Library news

Children's Programs:
Our Friday Story time is really drawing a large number of wee folks and of course, they always bring along a parent or caregiver who seem to enjoy the story, songs and crafts as much as the children do. The Theme for the next Story Time after Easter will be weather… let's hope it is a sign of good things to come, sunshine and just a few drops of rain.
Teen Programs
The Teen Scene
Every Thursday, from 6–7:30 p.m. (excluding the last Thursday of the Month) Grades 7 and up.
This Thursday, Easter crafts… decorate some eggs and make a colourful festive decoration. Celebrate Spring!
Teens are invited the first three Thursdays of the month to create a variety of projects!
Potential projects include:
• Button bracelets
• Hand knit cowls
• Personalized journals
• Baked goods
• Much, much more!
Pizza and Pages Book Club will meet one week earlier this month on April 23rd.
Books and more books:
We are just in the midst of looking at the new book lists for spring and summer and it is exciting! At the same time, we are also looking at re-vamping our library. Now that the Children's Library is downstairs, it has opened up the upstairs area for some new arrangements and concepts. This will be keeping us busy over the next few months and I am sure you will find the changes just as exciting and functional as the ones downstairs.
Reading… you should really pick up a copy of Charlotte Gray's book, The Massey Murder. There is still lots of time to read it before the One Book, One County event here in Shelburne, at Grace Tipling Hall on Sunday, May 3, at 2 p.m. It promises to be a very worthwhile and thought-provoking afternoon. This is a great opportunity to meet an author and mingle with friends.
