Shelburne Library news

What a glorious Easter weekend! Despite the many predictions of nasty, wet stuff, the weekend held out and we saw a lot of sunshine. My hellebore and snow drops are in tight bloom and the daffodils around my trees are nudging up through the ground. We hope you enjoyed your Easter long weekend as much as we did. We all came back with renewed energy and what that means is some exciting changes in our library. I don't want to give too much away because then if it isn't completed in the next week or so, our patrons might be disappointed.
Within the month however, we will have an exciting new online resource whereby you can read quite a number of current magazines online. We have lots of magazines in print copies and many people enjoy those in our reading area, but with the online versions, we will also have several iPads, and you can read them sitting in the library. We will have Atlantic monthly, lots of knitting as well as other special interest magazines. You can also download them and “take” them on a trip. We will have special classes on how to do this quickly and easily.
We will also be moving our Fiction books to the other side of the library so stay tuned… as the saying goes.

Children's and Teen programs
Running at the regular times, Friday morning and Thursday night respectively. We have just ordered quite a number of new Children's books so within the next two weeks, they will be livening up the shelves.

Library Literary Event
No firm date yet but sometime in June, we expect to have a wonderful presentation on Home Children so watch our website, this column, and our Facebook for an update.
