Wellies to Wishes

Jacqueline Moore and her son Evan volunteered to help serve over 150 guests at Wellies to Wishes on April 18th at the Mono Community Centre. Dufferin Child and Family Services (DCAFS) Coordinator Heather Hayes, inspiration for the first event six years ago and Chair of the Wellies to Wishes Committee, reported that the highly anticipated event raised approximately $35,000. “An oyster bar provided by Ruby pier was a huge success and generous donations from the community, including delightful treats from Lavender Blue Catering, Black Birch, Rustik, and the Chocolate Shop, were much appreciated,” said Hayes. “Bob Severn auctioneer, who has donated his skills to the event every year, was a huge part of the success of the evening and David Nairn Artistic Director of Theatre Orangeville was a terrific MC.” The auction included original works of art and one of a kind experience packages. A piece by artist Taylor Ledden was auctioned for $1000. Thanks go out to the community of artists and businesses that supported the event so generously. All profits help support the Dufferin Children's Fund.
