Turn in your unused drugs

Actually, they want your old and expired prescription medications. It's part of an initiative of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) called Prescription Drug Drop Off Day.
The idea behind the program is to increase the awareness in our community about the importance of going through their medicine cabinets to find out what medications are expired and what medications they do not use anymore.
β€œIt is our hope that everyone will learn that they can dispose of their expired and unused medications properly on this day and throughout the year at their local pharmacy.”
The Shelburne Police Service and Dufferin OPP are working together on the project.
Officers will have an information booth set up and will collect unused and expired drugs on Saturday May 9th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the rear parking lot at the Shelburne Police Service – located at 203 Main Street East.
There will be no questions asked at this event. The purpose is to get unused prescription drugs safely disposed of so that they cannot end up in the wrong hands or be abused. Prescription drug abuse, addiction and trafficking have increased significantly in the past 10 years – including in our communities! Please help keep our communities a safer place by dropping off your unused or expired prescription drugs at this event!
