Dog shot by police




On Saturday April 25, at 7:07 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a 911 call for a family dispute on 280 Sideroad in Melancthon Township.
During the course of the police investigation, a large dog attacked one of the OPP Officers, biting his arm. The dog attacked a second time, at this time the OPP officer had a responsibility to protect himself and others preventing further dog attacks as a result, he discharged his firearm and the dog is now deceased.
The officer was treated for the dog bite injury and sustained soft tissue damage as a result of the attack.

She was our pet and our best friend and she was loved so much by all of us,” said Keyda's (Key-da-my-Heart) owner, Susan Kupschus.
