Befriending the environment, one donation at a time

TD Canada Trust, Shelburne, recently concluded its in-branch fundraiser under the ‘Friends of the Environment Fund' umbrella. Funds raised through the program will stay local, to repair bridges, protect the environment and clean up after local events. Founded by TD Bank Group in 1990, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF) is a national charity that funds environmental projects across Canada. With the support of more than 150,000 donors, TD FEF has provided approximately $70 million to over 23,000 environmental projects and programs. The Foundation supports a wide range of environmental initiatives, with a primary funding focus on: Environmental education; Urban greening and enhancing biodiversity; and Energy conservation. Shelburne residents and service clubs looking to benefit from this fund, can get in touch with the local branch by calling 519 925-3832. The fundraiser ran in Shelburne from April 13th–30th, but anyone can donate to this fund at any time. TD Canada Trust also supports the Children's Miracle Treatment Network on a regular basis – matching client donations dollar for dollar.
