We are excited about their enthusiasm and their talents and I know this will ensure that we have a great summer ahead. Please check out all our upcoming programs and initiatives on our website, this column and our Facebook page Children's Library Yesterday was a very special day as we received the wonderful sign for our Children's library entrance created by Ken and Gywn McGhee. You must drop by and see the lovely tree cutout with children, pets and even an owl playing and reading in its branches. What great symbolism the sign portrays as you think of the growth that reading and literacy contribute to the lives of our young patrons. We are very grateful for this gift and the many contributions Ken and Gwyn have made over the years. Teen Scene One of the features of the Teen program will be an ongoing summer reading club… stay tuned for more details as we work on the program and activities. Shelburne Seniors Information Expo: Friday, May 22 at 10 a.m. This event hosted by David Tilson. M.P. at the New Horizons Seniors Club will feature a number of guest speakers with information relevant to seniors. I will be going to speak about services the Library provides for our seniors. Cathy Earle and Anne Crowder, our volunteers who support the seniors programs, will be accompanying me and will be available to talk about the service, answer questions and demonstrate the Daisy Reader. Library Literary Event: June 28th at 2 p.m. – British Home Children in Canada An ongoing event reminder: I know this is a topic of great interest and look forward to seeing you all there. Tickets are free, but it helps with our planning to know how many folks are coming. Call the Library at 519-925-2168 for more information on any programs.
